A ‘Dharma Assembly’ for the 2011 Year-End Blessing Ceremonies

On the first weekend of 2012, Tzu Chi Singapore held four rounds of ceremonies for its 2011 Year-End Blessings at Kallang Theatre. 143 volunteers came together to present a portion of the “Water Repentance” sutra adaptation, a Buddhist classic about the Law of Karma written by Dharma Master Wu Da in the Tang Dynasty. The scene of the casts and audience collectively motioning to the Great Repentance verses filled the theatre with an air of peace and sanctity.

The sutra adaptation opened with successive echoes of a clanging bell and sombre drum beating, creating roaring sounds of thunder, as if to remind the masses that it was time to wake up from our delusions.
