The 2013 “Dharma as Water” stage adaptation may have concluded, but the participants still remember what the six months of rehearsals and the two years of community study sessions have ingrained in them. A total of 960 Tzu Chi members gathered at Jing Si Hall and together, relived their experience of the joy of Dharma when they participated in the Dharma assembly together.
A total of 55 Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) volunteers from Singapore participated in the 2013 “Dharma as Water”stage adaptation as chorus and sign language presenters. Never did they imagine that as professional doctors and nurses, apart from taking care of the operations of the Tzu Chi Free Clinic and organizing community activities, they would get a chance to stand on stage and spread the Dharma teachings.
On 15 December 2013, before the curtain lifted for the last presentation of the “Dharma as Water” stage adaptation, close to 2,000 participants and helpers gathered at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for the sharing and appreciation session. In the midst of the expressions of mutual gratitude, everyone relived their journey over the last six months together as images flashed by on the screen overhead.
“Buddhism must be relevant to the times we are living in. While prayer and repentance may be made in a certain manner, the main thing is that our hearts are purified in the process and we correct our past transgressions.” A total of 111 Dharma Masters from various religious organizations attended the “Dharma as Water” stage adaptation cum Year-End Blessing Ceremony organized by Tzu Chi, and were of the opinion that the Dharma assembly was a truly sanctimonious event.
